JOB SUMMARY:

TH Plastics Inc. a custom injection molding manufacturer is now accepting applications for Press Operator. Ideal candidates will possess factory experience and have a strong work record along with references. This employee will be responsible for producing, inspecting, and packaging quality plastic parts within established production standards.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Communicate with operator from previous shift to receive important information.
• Read, understand, and follow the Operator Work & Packaging Instruction Sheet found in the Job Packet for Every Job Run .
• Follow required steps to certify for every part run and secondary operation performed.
• Follow required steps to achieve certification for every Mold/Label combination run in the IML Dept., including the successful completion of a Visual Attribute GR&R.
• Consistently perform all Press Operator operations to the approved standard.
• Inspect 100% of the parts and/or labels and inserts you mold and sort by means of visual inspections, touch, and measuring devices to insure defect-free parts.
• Notify Supervisor if 5 or more defective parts are produced within an hour.
• Protect and save suspect parts and place in designated area.
• Mark suspect parts as indicated in the job packet.
• Separate obvious defective parts from regular production.
• For IML parts: Press Operators must run a dry cycle at the first sign of a pit in the label or any other obvious defect and contact Supervisor.
• Pack only clean quality parts in accordance with designated packaging requirements.
• Perform all assigned duties within time period allowed, keeping up with the cycle of the machine.
• Keep work area neat & tidy, and free of trash & personal items.
• Communicate all job information to oncoming operator, including relief operators.
• Provide accurate scrap counts at the end of shift.
• Notify your Supervisor should ANY problems arise during your shift, including but not limited to injury.
• Complete all other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have the ability to perform repetitive work in a fast paced work environment, which includes standing, sitting, frequent walking, and some light lifting.
• Must be able to use various hand tools for trimming activities.
• Must have the ability to reach and comprehend written instructions in English.
• Ability to comprehend and perform basic math, including addition, subtraction, and multiplication.
• Must be able to write legibly in English.
• Reliable transportation is a must.
